Peppard class - 20th October

Welcome to our week in Peppard class.

In phonics this week, we have learned the new phonemes and corresponding graphemes:

h, b, f, and l.

We have learned the tricky words:

I, the, is

Please do familiarise yourselves with how to pronounce each sound on the Little Wandle website.  

We have sent home a book for you to share with your child.  They might need a little support but should be able to recognise and blend some words.  Please do read through a few times to develop fluency (reading automatically rather than sounding out).

In maths this week, we have been playing some games to support subitising and composition of numbers.  We had a wonderful time playing a game and the children have started to represent maths when scoring.  We were impressed with their mathematical understanding during the game.  

We have read some stories about different kinds of families this week.  We loved the photographs from home, thank you so much.  We looked at baby photos and thought about what we could do then and what we can do now and identified changes.
