Welcome to our week in Peppard class.

In phonics this week we have learned the phonemes - g,o,c,k

We have also learned to read the tricky word 'is'.  It is tricky because the 's' makes a 'z' sound.

In maths we have been exploring patterns, making up our own and continuing a repeated pattern.  We used patterns as our topic in our music lesson and created and followed musical patterns using percussion instruments.  We have also been exploring capacity by using bottles and jugs in the water tray.  We have been looking at full, empty, half full, half empty, nearly full, nearly empty, empty.  

We have enjoyed learning using active learning and creative thinking when in our choosing time sessions.  The children have experiemented with forces when using cars and slopes, they have created castles which were modified and developed.  We love to observe the children and interact to embed prior learning and ideas as they choose their own resources.
