Welcome to our week in Peppard class.

In phonics this week we have learned the new sounds:

sh, th, ng, and nk

Our new tricky words are:

he, she, of, go

These digraphs have proven to be a little harder to remember so please do recap over the weekend.

In maths this week, we have been learning number bonds to 4 and 5. 

We have also started our Christmas countdown maths calendar and the children have been introduced to time, subitising and subtraction as we began this project.  

We have enjoyed learning about the seasons and weather.  We were particularly excited to find ice outside.  We expressed our thoughts about how and where it might melt and then left it out in the sun during lunchtime to test our theory.  

The children have all done a wonderful job with their secret DT project.  You will be so excited to see the results in a few weeks!

We have enjoyed our first Christmas story which was called 'You choose at Christmas' by Nick Sharrat and Pippa Goodhart.  We then took part in a live webinar with them and we learned how to draw some of the objects in the story.  The children concentrated so well!
