Highmoor 14th March
Date: 14th Mar 2025 @ 3:08pm
Welcome to our week in Highmoor.
In maths we have been continuing to work with fractions, comparing unit and non unit fractions, looking at scale and fractions on number lines.
We have written non chronological reports in literacy about our misfit creatures and are working on presenting them as a book.
We learnt about ancient Sumer in history and compared it to ancient Egypt.
Henley Youth Festival visited us again on Thursday; Music for Minatures entertained the lower school as we got involved in learning about brass and woodwind instruments.
In PE we worked on our team building skills while playing capture the flag. It was great to watch the children discuss tactics and call out instructions and encourage one another during the game. We also practised more hockey skills on the playground, the children have really improved on their control of the ball over these last lessons. On to football skills next week!
Today in science we started learning about teeth and how we should look after them. We set up an experiment to see which liquids could damage and stain our teeth the most and made out predictions. All will be revealed next week!
Homework is Doodle maths, reading, times tables and spellings.
Have a lovely weekend all.
