Highmoor 13th September
Date: 13th Sep 2024 @ 1:16pm
Welcome to our week in Highmoor.
We have been continuing with our topic of place value in maths breaking down 3 digit numbers into hundreds, tens and ones, placing numbers on number lines, working out the scale on number lines and flexibly partitioning numbers.
In literacy we have been working on our Magic Box poems and have really enjoyed thinking about all the weird and wonderful things we can put into our boxes.
We had our first Spanish lesson and learnt how to greet each other.
In music this term we are looking at musical structures. We started off by learning a new song with a verse and chorus structure and then making up our own actions to accompany this hoedown song. We also played our recorders along with the music, learning a new note, F.
We enjoyed book reviews by Bella and Peter. They told us all about The Midnight Gang by David Walliams and James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. Next week we’re looking forward to book reviews by Bea and Bode.
In science this week, we thought about what we already knew around our new topic of forces and magnets. We then experimented creating friction using our hands, woolly gloves and rubber gloves. One got super hot very quickly!
Homework is Doodle maths, daily reading, times tables and spellings.
Have a great weekend all.
