Highmoor 13th December

Date: 13th Dec 2024 @ 12:08pm

Welcome to our week in Highmoor.

And what a busy week it’s been! On Monday we loved watching the dress rehearsal for KS1and Reception’s nativity. They did a fantastic job.

We had cross country on Tuesday where we all had great fun and tried our best. We got a little muddy but we didn’t mind and had smiles on our faces throughout.

On Wednesday we went for the welly walk while FOPS set up for our Christmas lunch. We were lucky enough to have a visit from Father Christmas! Thank you FOPS for organising this. We then went carol singing at Peppard War Memorial Hall with Springwood class which was a great way to finish a very Christmassy day!

Then on Thursday we had a fantastic visit to the lab of the RBCS Geology Department, thanks to Mrs Rancombe, staff and pupils of RBCS. We did fossil rubbings, used microscopes to see what is in a grain of sand, constructed the world, classified rocks, minerals and fossils and coloured in Trilobites and also had our lunch in the dining hall!

As well as all these fun activities we did our pira (reading) and puma (maths) assessments at the start of the week, we read the poem ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas and investigated new vocabulary in it and answered comprehension questions, we continued working on column multiplication in maths and using it to answer tricky word problems.

Phew! A very VERY busy week! We hope you all get a chance to rest over the weekend ready for the last week of term next week.
