Geography

This term our topic is The Amazon. This week in geography we were given the outline of a map of South America. We used our iPads to help us draw in the different countries. After that we made little flags to label the capital cities of each country.

English

In English we wrote poems about the role of women in WWI and WWII. It was the role of the women to take on the jobs that the men would have done at the time. This meant they were making amunitiuon, driving vehicles and farmimg. We were sad to hear that women did not get the recognition they deserved and we wrote free verse and rhyming poems to read out at our remembrance service next week. 

Swimming

We started swimming at Gillott's today. It was lots of fun and we swam all the strokes: front crawl, back stroke, breast stroke and dolphin kick. Some people could do butterfly!
