Friday, 25th October by Sable and Ivy

Date: 25th Oct 2024 @ 2:08pm

We have come to the end of a very busy half-term.

Science

This week we learned about the phases of the Moon. Our favourite part was when we used oreo cookies to show the phases and then we were allowed to eat them when we were finished! We carefully separated the two parts of four cookies. Then we used a spoon to make the white creamy part look like the different phases of the Moon. It was such fun.

Our class novel, Holes, by Louis Sachar

We had some marathon reading sessions as we were determined to finish the book. We really enjoyed the story. There were some cliff hangars and some unexpected twists and turns in the story. Then on Friday, we watched the movie. Both the book and the movie were incredibly enjoyable. The movie was very similar to the book, and we liked that.

Art

We rolled up our maps to make them look authentic and old. They are now safely in our sketch books. We learned how to make our writing look like it was standing up! It was great.

Wishing everyone in Springwood a happy half-term break.
