Art

The children have been designing their own maps. They labelled different parts of their islands and drew them in pencil. Then this week they stained them with tea to give them an old look. We look forward to seeing the finished product!

English

This half term we have been reading the novel, Holes. We spent some time this week studying the main character, Stanley, using the text as evidence. It is a great story that teaches us so much about never losing hope in trying circumstances.

Science

The class continued to be wowed by our solar system. We focussed on the Moon and why different parts of the Moon are visible at different times.

Next week is the last week of school before half term. 

Year 5s must have their Speech Awards choices ready by Tuesday.
