Science

As part of our section on animal life cycles, Lou Austin came back to class to check on the eggs in the incubator. She placed each egg on the torch. She did this to see if the eggs were developing or not. Luckily ten out of the twelve embryos are growing well. She will come back next week to check on two eggs that we are not sure about.

Class photos

Class photos were taken out on the common. The photographer put us all in good positions for our class photo. The year 6s had individual photos taken as well, and a leaver's photo. It's a good thing that we had sunny weather this week!

History

In History we are imagining that we are war correspondents. We have completed some research on different aspects of WW2, and this week we needed to write a news article about one of these aspects. It was interesting to imagine ourselves there in the war at that time.

We also had a visit from Bill Pollard, Rosie's dad, and his friend. They are rifding their Penny Farthings from Henley to Paris in a few weeks time to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support. They told us all about their Penny Farthigs and answered loads of our questions.

Basketball tournment

The year 6s will be playig in a basketball tournament at Sonning Common this afternoon. They haven't had much time to practice, but their netball skills are good, so we're sure they will do well!

All the best to the year 6s who will be writing SATs papers next week. We know that you will give of your best and achieve your personal goals.
