On Monday most of Year Six did their nerve wracking cycling proficiency test – and passed with flying colours!!
The rest of Springwood were with Mrs Pitson using their maths and ruler skills to make 3cm wide paper chains to decorate the classroom. We have also been doing some Christmas maths problem solving which was quite tricky.
In Literacy we have been doing story writing – we were given four scenarios about The Nightmare Just Before Christmas. These included Santa being kidnapped, Santa not being able to fit down the chimney, a missing elf and Santa having to deliver presents on a motorbike.
In topic we have nearly finished our hat making and so have been thinking about advertising our products. We looked at different adverts and the language they use to create our own advertisment.
We received an email from our twinned school in Bled showing us photos of where they go to school, their classrooms and photos of their English lesson. They are very lucky to go to school in such a beautiful area.
We have learnt a little bit of Slovenian this week when we made and sent Christmas cards to the school. “vesel bozic” means Merry Christmas.
This week we decided to do a showing assembly to share with the parents what we have learnt since September – we hope to see lots of them at 9.10 on Monday morning.
Yesterday we went to the amazingly magical Harry Potter Studio Tour – there is too much to include here so look out for another post later today.
