We have had a very busy week in Peppard Class.
We have been looking at positional language in Mathematics. We have been using words such as ‘on top of’, ‘under’, ‘over’, ‘inbetween’, ‘forwards’, ‘backwards’ and even ‘left’ and ‘right’. We have been learning to follow directions and have been using our Beebots ( mini robots) to direct to different places.
In Phonics we have learnt new sounds ‘igh’ and ‘oa’.
In Topic we have been learning about the Fire Service. We have been learning about their role in society and how to stay safe. To end the week we had a very exciting visit from Henley Fire Service. They talked to us about how to stay safe at home, how a fire alarm works, their uniform (Miss Bryant tried in all on for us) and even brought their fire engine with them. They showed us all of the equipment and let us have a go at using the hose.
This week for our Hero Topic the children are being asked to be a ‘Charitable Hero’. The children have been asked to bake cakes for Friday the 7th February where they will be sold from 9.10am in the Parish Room down at the Church in aid of the charity ‘Help the Heroes’. Please bring any baked goods with you on the day.
