Highmoor – 7th March

This week in Numeracy we began looking at fractions. We have been learning to recognise and name different size fractions and find equivalent fractions.

Miss Bryant is very pleased with our progress in learning to play the recorder. This week we were able to read and label music without relying on a key and play hot cross buns in rounds!

On Wednesday, we attended the workshop Fire the Inventor at the Henley Youth Centre. We learnt a combination of new Design Technology and Art skills and after being let loose on the craft materials finished our session proud of some fabulous mechanical toy creations!

Despite being extremely difficult to choose, 3 designs were selected to be entered into the Henley Youth Festival Art exhibition! A huge well done to Christel, Mimi and Elio!

Thursday was a very memorable day for all children at Peppard as we received a visit from inspiring author and illustrator James Mayhew!

We were lucky enough to have a talk from him about how his creations first came to light. We even saw the original copy of Katie’s picture show!

He talked us through the process of writing and illustrating a story and we watched some of his art develop as a story unfolded.
