We have had a fun and productive end to Term 4 in Highmoor Class. To finish off our Explorers and Adventurers topic, we became experimental scientists researching the uses of magnets. We created our own compasses using magnets to determine position. We checked the home made compasses with real ones and were very excited to find that they reliably pointed North almost every time!
In PE we continued our work with Foundation Class by designing more activities aimed to develop their key skills. To end the session and to familiarise Foundation with our Sports Day style activities we did some running races!
As a colourful and creative end to our work on Margaret Mee, we learnt how to make tissue paper flowers. Thanks to the eye catching work of Mrs Taylor, we set off once again with some new inspiration and created water colour paintings of some of our favourite flowers. Once finished, our work made some lovely Mother’s Day gifts!
Just before we departed for a well-deserved Easter break, we took part in a whole school Easter egg decorating and rolling competition! We had HUGE amounts of fun so a massive thank you to the adults who helped to organise it!
