This week in Literacy we have been working really hard on the final versions of our stories inspired by Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine. Our stories included some creative description about all the terrible (but rather funny) things that happened to Grandma as well as some some great speech punctuation.
In Numeracy, we have been working on using the column method for addition. Lots of us have made super progress this week and are now adding 3 and 4 digit numbers and carrying across the columns.
In mental maths, we have been working on improving the speed and accuracy of recalling the 2 and 5 times table. We spent time rotating around a selection of games designed to improve these mental maths skills.
Here is Kai doing a speed test.

Dylan, Jess, Nina, Kits, Jake and May sorting times tables facts into order against the clock!
Due to school closing early Friday, homework and spellings did not go out. They will be handed out Monday and due in Friday. Mental maths tests will go ahead Thursday as usual.
